Dr.Passang Thopchen

Dr. Passang Thopchen – B.T.M.S., D.T.C.M., M.D.

Dr. Passang Thopchen was born in Tibet he is third lineage of Namwed Kegal Tsang. Namwed Kegal who ruled Song choo area in east Tibet. Dr. Passang graduated in both Tibetan and Chinese medicines, in Tibet and China. He practices a unique fusion of both disciplines and so is able to complement the administration of herbal medicine with acupuncture. He is totally dedicated to the ancient medical sciences and is constantly engaged in research.

Tibetan medicine takes the whole person into account considering all aspects: lifestyle, diet, morality, and most important, the emotions. If unbalanced, these weaken the immune system and so are perceived as being the root cause of all sickness. Prevention is better then cures. Doctor Passang cures through diet, moral behaviour, medicines and therapy (internal and external therapy) to treat the patient.

Dr. Passang left Tibet in 1995 and has been practicing on the international community in Dharamsala and Pune, India. He has treated more then 100.000 patients in that time, and so has gained unprecedented insights into the national emotional characteristics he has encountered.

Treatment always involves the patients in their own recovery. Dr. Passang offers counseling and visualization as techniques to balance the mind, by changing the diet, morality. He has been successful in treating a wide spectrum of ailments, from drug addiction to the common cold. Perhaps it is because he comes from a medical back-ground (his mother is a qualified western medical doctor, she also used acupuncture.) But Dr. Passang accesses his ancestral intuition in both diagnosis and treatment. He conducts acupuncture and Tibetan medicine course. He never fails to hit his target and has had invariably positive feedback.

Dr. Passang is a member of the Tibetan medical society of Tibet, the acupuncture TCM of China, and India academy of acupuncture science (I A Ac Sc) of India. He has attended international conferences in Beijing, New Delhi and Rome.

Need acupuncture help to conduct free treatment & Establish permanent centre at North-East of India

It is an idea that has been brewing in my mind for almost 15 years. Although I have done Diploma in Acupuncture from International College of Acupuncture, Sri Lanka and Indian Academy of Acupuncture Science, Aurangabad, but Acupuncture has been a second career for me (I am also a trained journalist from prestigious IIMC & working in Print media, television, and production too).
I had been inspired by a French/Swiss group called Acupuncture without Borders and later on Acupuncture Ambassadors, Barefoot Doctors, one day closer, Community Acupuncture and so on. I wanted this new work to be about social service in North-East India.
 North-east India has the highest cancer patient in India!
 2, 00,000 cancer patient register themselves in out state hospitals annually!
 > 6000 stroke patient annually and not a single paralysis, accident & trauma centre of proper recovery program!
 Have highest number of terrorist organization and sufferers in Asia where 75 out of every 1000 people suffer from Mental Disorder!
 >90% of pain disorder patient have only choice of painkiller tablets and so they are damaging their kidney. Only limited Hospital in major town have Physiotherapy clinic and beyond the reach of them.
In order to serve the people of North-East region I have taken a mission as a social Responsibility program. Patients from all the 7 states of north – east India i.e. Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura & Arunachal Pradesh will be treated through Acupuncture and Modern Medicine in Integrated Medical Centre at Guwahati FREE OF COST for a period of 06 months. Our goal is to offer effective care to over 100-200 patients per day in our Guwahati based field clinic by means of Acupuncture, Acupressure, and Reflexology & Anti Stress Massage.
This is my personal mission to do this work full time. This clinic will become the Hub for our operations. We are hoping to have a “grand opening” ceremony on 01-01-11 for Acupuncture missions. Provisionally established clinic will have two treatment areas in one centre. Practitioners will work in a beautiful air conditioner environment. Treatment centre will have 25 beds with nurses and volunteer helpers.
This mission has been divided into three phases-
 Phase I : we will establish free care Acupuncture centre for six month only,
 Phase II : we will establish 10-15 bed permanent acupuncture centre at Guwahati,
 Phase III: we will establish several centers in rest of north-east India.

Also introducing a new concept in Media i.e. Media Medicine “Innertainment”. It will be telecasted in a leading TV channel of the north – east India. Free medical centre activity and volunteer Doctors & Healers will be covered in TV program and will be aired all over the world as a serial for a period of six months. Innovative Mass promo & advertisement strategy will be focus .This effort will not only benefit local people, but will also make Acupuncture more popular in the region. Media coverage will be provided through Print media (in 35 daily newspapers) and electronic media (6 TV channel).Top VIP personalities will visit in treatment centre. Wide publicity will be given to cause of Humanity.
I understand you have vast exposer in this field and I am approaching you for your kind support and Association in this mission. Your involvement can be………

Other healing professionals and body-workers can step forward to selflessly offer their skills and services to this noble cause.

Volunteer practitioners are essential to the success of the clinic. Each volunteer practitioner is asked to contribute as many days as they want or can take responsibility for whole 06 month camp project. Services are offered completely free to the community by a team of volunteer acupuncturists who hope to treat up to 100-200 people per day, 7 days a week for 6 months. As many as 5000-6000 treatments will be offered in a month. patients will be treated free of charge at the Wellness Centre, providing Acupuncturist with limitless opportunity to gain hands on experience in acupuncture and sharing knowledge to each other while helping others .
